Steven Michels is a professor and currently the Chair of the Department of Political Science and Global Affairs at Sacred Heart University, in Fairfield, CT, where he’s been since 2002. He’s also held leadership positions at the University level and in the College of Arts and Sciences.
Steven teaches courses in political theory, political economy, and law. His recent publications include a book on cultural depictions of the working class and a chapter in a book on The Wheel of Time TV series.
Be sure to check out his list of authored and edited books, published articles and chapters, book reviews and notes, as well as other professional writing. Some of it is not terrible. And here’s a list of what I’m currently working on and thinking about.
Born and raised in southeastern Michigan, which is a great place to be from, Steven has also lived, studied, and worked in Athens (GA), Chicago, New Haven, New York City, and New Haven again, where he has a big and needy house with his partner, Michael Vale.
Steven enjoys watching movies and TV, especially Cubs games; playing guitar in his band, Go 2 Eleven; playing poker; and cleaning up after Willa (the cat) and Bevy and Petula (the grand champion English Toy Spaniels).
